Volunteering for Wildlife is Priceless!

Our volunteers make a difference for wildlife today and tomorrow.  The AZGFD Department believes in providing the best environment possible for volunteers.  If you love wildlife and the AZ Game and Fish mission, you will enjoy joining our team!

Jamie Lyons is our new Volunteer Program Administrator.  She started in April and hopes to improve the current program by reaching out to existing volunteers and building a program with their needs in mind.  She is a 10 year Military Police veteran and operates a non-profit organization for veterans outside the Department.  Please feel free to call Jamie at 623-236-7311.

Volunteer Opportunities Include:

• Wildlife care, facility maintenance and office work at the department’s wildlife center in Phoenix.
• Instructional work in our boating education classes, sport fishing program, Shooting Sports Program and Hunter education.
• Habitat restoration and clean-up projects, including the Adopt-A-Ranch Program.
• Firearms safety education and grounds maintenance work at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility in Phoenix.
• Construction of water developments for wildlife.
• A limited number of seasonal field projects and surveys.
